My estimate would be somewhere in the $120k range (base salary) if it is in the NY Metro area...

That's about right. I know a guy doing it for $115k a year, 135 charter operation. I know another guy making $175K, private individual. The third guy I know works for a big Fortune 100 company making $127K. In all I would expect to see between $120-130K to start depending upon Q of L and bennies in the tri state region.

Plus you have to consider the fringes, too. Bonuses, stock options, car's... It's variable. Plus, how much time do you want to put in at the office? No face time, lower pay.TC

How's it going G4G5? If you get to IND give me a call...

just curious what kind of numbers are your prospective employer talking? :)

No face time is KEY.

It's worth taking less money if you only have to fly. Coming to the office after a 2 week trip to answer phones would be a MAJOR bummer.

Challenger Pay

A buddy of mine is in contention for a Co-captain job and asked what I thought it oughta pay. Anyone have any idea what NBAA avg would be for 601-3R in Las Vegas. Mostly 91 work but will "occasionally" do some charter. I'm guessing the A/C would be in the same pay category as a DA-900 or G-IV but I'm not familiar with that area of the country so......................
Thanks!!

Yo Rice --

I know a guy who was flying a 601-3A in LA area and he said he was making 125K. Said the more senior guy was a bit higher. PT 135 with a "little" charter. mostly owner. 2 pilots.

This was a bit over 2 years ago. He's a believeable guy, calls it like it is - so I bet thats accurate.

He said this was "pretty good pay" for the equip at the time.

of course my guess is LA is a bit pricier than Vegas..but then again Vegas has more hookers.

:D .

well, Im off to drink beer -- see ya.
