Greetings!
I am getting ready to resume getting my private pilots license after a 20-year hiatus. The difference between 20 years ago and now is I have saved up a nice chunk of money.
Maybe this is a stupid question but, would I save money by buying my own plane to use for my training or am I better off using the planes that the flight schools use? For all I know, I may not be able to use a personally owned plane but, I thought I'd ask for your opinions here.
Thanks!

Owning an airplane is much more expensive than most people realize. I recommend that you get a private license and rent various ones for several flights before you go shopping, so you don’t end up wishing that you had:
a) bought a different airplane or
b) not bought one at all.
