Whats the best route to take when one wants to get into the ATC profession???

What is the hiring outlook like for the next few years???

As far as I know, there will be a shortage in a few years with retirements coming and what not

Go to www.faa.gov Their website explains the requirements. There are numerous colleges participating in the Controller program that can send you for the test. Now is the time to do it. You make good money and they are already short and plan on hiring thousands in the next few years as all the Reagan era ATC guys retire.

You Must be on station by 31 unless you were a prior military controller and then you can be hired after that age.
