Just curious if anyone knows of any tricks (a phone number of someone I can call or other ideas) to get an interview with ComAir. I'm flying for Airnet now, and my flight time is well above their published mins( I've got about 2400 total, 900 multi).

ComAir is who I'd really like to work for, but I can't seem to get an interview. Are my flight times even competetive with the current job market and if so, what can I do to be noticed by the pilot recruiters there?

Thanks

Comair

Get a few hundred turbine and try the airinc fair. It's a good opportunity to sell your self in 10 sec. or less (that part was a bit disappointing).

I just hand delivered a friend's resume along with my LOR for him to pilot recruiting at Comair. I was told he would probably have to wait until after the first of the year to be called. All interviews for November are already scheduled. December is still open but there are plenty of others in line ahead of him. When I asked if his resume and times were competitive they said he was a little low but in the hunt. Hang on to your hat: he has 4000TT 2500ME 1800 ME turbine and 1100 ME turbine PIC (all 121). Plus he's current and presently a 1900 Captain. Yowza! Glad I'm not looking for a job these days.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I am certain I got the interview because I walked up to Deb at the Airinc. convention in Dallas last January. I gave her my resume, told her I was very interested in the Company. She gave me her card and told me to call her if I hadn't received a call in 2 months. I got a call in six weeks. The sock I stuffed in my pants may have helped... Good Luck

I had two folks walk in resumes, had three LOR's from Comair pilots, and updated my resume every 50 hours, over the course of 4 1/2 months, with no response.

I got the interview by walking up to Sharon Jones at the Dallas AirInc conference last January, handing her a resume, and gving her the 2 minute "why I want to work for Comair" speal. She offered me an interview on the spot.

Hate to shill for Kit Darby, but it was the best $99 bucks I ever spent.

Good luck.

Interview

I am glad to see you are interested in working for Comair. Do you know any pilots that work for the company? I hate to push Air Inc as well, but it would be an opportunity to talk to the powers at be! If you go look for Sharon Jones or Deb Arthur from the HR side and Capt. Todd McGregor from the pilot side. Fax your resume in if you haven't done so already. The phone number is on the web site Comair.com Do you live in Cincy? Let me know what you find out!

Good Luck,
SJCAPT

Where can i find the location of the next AirInc convention, and also who is going to be at the next one?

I don't live in Cincy. I've already faxed in a resume. I'll try the Air Inc. idea. Please let us know when the next one is or how I can find out. Thanks for all the help. We just have to be patient and keep trying.

Air Inc

I will find out when the next AirInc. event will be that Comair is attending, and I will see if I can find out who will be there from the company.

:)

truthfully, with your flight times, you would be at the bottom of the pile in terms of qualifications with comair in the present hiring situation...

from a recent air inc e-mail i recieved:

ATLANTA, GA – More than 400 pilots met with 57 representatives from 15 major, national, and regional airlines during AIR, Inc.’s final Airline Pilot Career Seminar, Airline Forum, and Job Fair of 2002, held on October 19, at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center in Washington, DC. Several of the airlines attending the Job Fair were either interviewing on-site or scheduling future interviews. Alaska Airlines confirmed that the only ways to get on file with them is to be recommended by an employee, be a Horizon pilot, or attend an AIR, Inc. Job Fair. Comair filled 39 of 44 available interview slots just from the pilots in attendance and had the résumés in hand to find the last five needed for its upcoming classes. USA 3000 Airlines and Colgan Air were conducting interviews on-site. Fractional operators NetJets and Flight Options were pleased to find so many military pilots with VIP ! passenger experience, plus experienced corporate pilots. Many furloughed pilots in attendance found several airlines – including Atlantic Southeast Airlines and Atlantic Coast Airlines – that had jobs to offer, but did not require them to resign their major-airline seniority numbers.

The next Airline Pilot Career Seminar, Airline Forum, and Job Fair is scheduled for Saturday, January 25, 2003, in Dallas, TX, at the Sheraton Grand Hotel @ DFW. For more information on attending the seminar, visit us on the Web at www.jet-jobs.com or call 800 JET-JOBS (538-5627) today!
