A CHS C-17 reserve bud of mine sez the 437 OG/CC (active duty) mandated no drinking of alcohol by 437 OG members on TDY worldwide.

Is this true. Can I hear a YGTBMFSM???

Is Kool-Aid still an approved substance?

Does that commander secretly work for AFPC? Perhaps this is a covert attempt to get more people to apply for VSP.

He may have been referring to the RAVENS, not the Aircrew. I think they had a couple of Alcohol incidents and the leadership changed their drinking policy.

Actually, it's true. He issued that order on Monday the 16th after a series of incidents that occured last weekend (Oct 14-15). It applied to aircrew and to all TDYs: stateside or overseas, flying or not. He's already rescinded it - it lasted less than a week.

2 of the incidents involved alcohol, but were off duty. Another was during crew rest overseas, but there's no official word on whether it involved alcohol or not.

The 16 SOW WG CC tried that for a couple of weeks. I recommend the AF IG. I'm not sure the CC can legally do that if he is not a warfighting commander...but maybe he can if he issues the orders.
Congressman? Senator?
