I have called the General Aviation Facility at DFW and they informed me that there is a $25 charge for parking on the ramp at minimum..based on length of time. I work at a hangar at DFW(A&P Mechanic) and wondering if i would be able to fly in(C-172) and park the aircraft at my companies hangar without being charged any type of landing/parking fees? Would ATC automatically direct me to GA Ramp for payment/landing fee?

You don't have to go to the GA ramp. If you call ground and request taxi to the American Airline's hangar, they can't really say no. Now whether American would go for it is a completely different issue. I'll bet they'll say something like their insurance doesn't cover it or some such...

From what I understand, you will be charged a landing fee.

Why would you want to take a small GA a/c into DFW. I ask myself that question all the time, esp after you see the GA trailer.

You can request to taxi to a specific point or destination at DFW, simply make the request with ground control. You will (count on it) be charged a landing fee regardless of where you are going to park the aircraft. They can, do, and have, made calls- pretty easy when they have a tail number. I have done quite a few 135/91 flights in DFW in the past and regardless of the ground time a fee was always charged..

good luck,
