For all that need to know. LOL. I saw this on the FAA website while requesting one of the new pilot certificates. To each his own.

Gender change:
To obtain a new airman certificate that reflects a gender change, it is necessary that you appear at an FAA Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) for positive identification. One or both of the following documents must be presented to an FAA Inspector:

  1.
A court order issued by a court of the United States or it's territories stating that the applicant has changed his/her gender, and/or
A statement from a physician or clinical psychologist treating the applicant that contains:
    1. Identification of the applicant by name and address, and
    2. Verification that the applicant is undergoing treatment that has altered or will alter the gender.

This is interesting. Back to disqualifying medicine. There was someone who posted they were taking Paxil or Prozac or something. While the FAA says they have nothing against the drugs they say what concerns them is the "underlying condition that the person is taking the drugs for" Well.....wouldn't getting a sex change operation qualify for an "underlying condition" no pun intended.

Gender change is nothing new. ALPA got emasculated a long time ago! TC

(i) “Substance” includes: alcohol; other sedatives and hypnotics; anxiolytics; opioids; central nervous system stimulants such as cocaine, amphetamines, and similarly acting sympathomimetics; hallucinogens; phencyclidine or similarly acting arylcyclohexylamines; cannabis; inhalants; and other psychoactive drugs and chemicals; and

(ii) “Substance dependence” means a condition in which a person is dependent on a substance, other than tobacco or ordinary xanthine-containing (e.g., caffeine) beverages, as evidenced by—

(ii) May reasonably be expected, for the maximum duration of the airman medical certificate applied for or held, to make the person unable to perform those duties or exercise those privileges.

Fascinating, isn't it, that you can be denied a medical for seeking counseling to deal with the grief from the loss of spouse (for example) But if you have some deep seated desire to mutilate your genitals to resemble those of the opposite sex, and that desire is so compelling that you actually act it out, you're good to go.

Well

There is a retired Continental pilot named Jessica that was once John. I actually met her at a Dedallions meeting. Yes she is also a retired airforce officer.

Anyone remember the TWA she/guy from like 10 years ago? I will never forget being speechless in STL while traveling on a EEE ticket..:D

At my former desk job my co-workers and I were called in to an emergency meeting on a Friday afternoon. The announcement was that one of the department V.P.'s was going to get a sex change!!! Picture a boardroom with about 12 of us at the big table and this being the emergency annoucement. I did everything I could not to laugh but when we were told "he would like to be known as Zoe when he returns" I just lost it!!! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. It was very bizarre.

Mr. I.

well

I thought I would throw in that Jessica is 6ft 3 and I would say 250lbs

King Schools had a guy in a lot of their videos; J.C. Boylls was a man. Now he's a she.
Do you have a picture of he/she? It kinda makes me want to go back and watch the King tapes again and see if I could have picked it out.

Do they actually mutilate them?

I would have thought they would put them in a mason jar so's a person could take them home and place them up on the mantle, or at least given a person the choice of taxidermy.

I can't find any pictures online, but I was told this by a DE I had, she said did you watch any tapes with a guy JC Boylls, and then she pulled out a King Schools catalog with pictures of people that worked there, and this /man/woman had long curly blonde hair. The DE said she had a friend that worked there, and that this guy started coming to work in drag, then had boobs, and then changed himself to be referred to as a she. I also read online he is no longer affiliated with King.

I sat next to a NWA DC9 FO on a crew van last year that was so ugly, I couldnt decide if it had started out as a man, or if it was just the ugliest woman I had ever seen in polyester . . . . I exaggerate not.

Any NWA pilots want to confirm or deny?
