Anyone know anything good, bad, or otherwise about Gemini. Is it a good job? is a good company? Do they treat there people good? are you gone the whole 19 days or are you just on reserve?

I believe its 18 on 12 off the first year. 17 on 13 off the second year. Lots and lots of overtime so I here. Co-worker took a leave of absence to work for them. He like's it thus far. Training was not difficult. CPT's not difficult. The training department very very helpful..they don't want you to fail. Looking to expand their fleet. First ALPA contract has been signed. Not sure when it goes into effect. You can be gone the entire time. $45/hr first year $67/hr the second year. Both based on 65hr/month. Anything over 65 hrs. is time and a half. I was told first year people making $75k but you work your a$$ off. www.airlinepilotpay.com says no profit sharing. 401k plan matching 50% of first 6%. A tough job if your a family man. I have been told all like it there. No complaints...though everyone has their grips. Gos with every job. Read an article saying "you will see the world and its a tough job if you're married". Be yourself. Relax. Tell them you want to work...lots. From what I hear a very laid back interview. Do not bring up Union stuff...like all mgmt they hate Unions.
My understanding is its a personality interview.

I have heard nothing about system questions. Take that how you want it.

Again all second hand knowledge but from a very good source. Hiring for the January class. That's all I know. Please email me. Let me know how it went.

Does anyone know if they are hiring for the DC-10 or the MD-11 in the January class?

a buddy of mine interviewed last week. They told him they may run a Dec class. If not , then it will be a Jan DC-10 class.

Overtime is based on working on your days off, not on breaking the 65hr guarantee.

Hey guys, how long did it take to get a call? I have talked with a guy that is on the DC-10 and he loves it? Do they have PFE's on the 10's? Any info would help!

GEMINI General questions

To all of you Gemini pilots out there:

How much are the union dues?

I have heard of a possible pay freeze going on right now; how long until that is over and what do you think the new payscale will look like?

Is the insurance competive and reasonably priced?

How does scheduling treat the pilots? for example, are they afraid to make decisions themselves regarding releasing a pilot a little early.

Are you able to trip trade?

Do they hire seasonally to cover for additional flying (like CAT has been known to do) only to lay you off later, or do they want to keep you permanently?

Where are junior pilots based?

Are there alot of whiners with bad attitudes, or are most of the pilots generally pleasant to fly with?
