Wonder when the first fatality will be caused by a G1000 systems failure! It almost got me last year between Greenland and Iceland. Kinda scary that they have poor quality control in their products that we trust our lives with. I Hope this issue don't put Columbia Aircraft out of business they just laid off 300 employees and stopped production.

"The problem — officially a “higher than normal failure rate” — was discovered during routine flight tests conducted by manufacturers."

Their should be NO Failures!!!! Garmin should have better quality control on this system.

Did you get red X's or did the attitude display just start giving bogus information?

Lots of Red X then blank screens on both displays but that was caused by something else. The last few G1000's I have flown have had a few software updates in the last year and they have fixed a lot of issues. They still make me uneasy in the soup!!! Thats why I practice partial panel in my 150 to keep sharp. Now only if they can fix the red X issues on the tach's and few other items seems like they use low quality sensors. Great platform for instruments when it works. After 40 or 50 hours in a week it's a bit odd feeling to go back to steam gages.
