Someone was showing me a few things on the G3X as of course I'm sitting there thinking I've been using this for two years...I know I know...well, I didn't know...something! There is obviously a lot to learn in these packed avionics systems and if you go to the INFO tab (screen) on the G3X you'll see the Satellite info. Yeah, boring, why do I need to look at that? Then there is another tab on that screen which is DATA FIELDS. Activate this tab and you'll see 12 buckets of great info that of course you can customize from the menu area. For setups like mine with 2 x comm's I don't get but two customizable data fields at the top which will increase to four if I go into compressed/compact mode. Compact mode (whatever it's called) is fine but it makes changing radios more taps as you can't change left/right comm from the top bar but have to open the comm dialog and turn things on/off. I digress...take a look at this page and customize it to your liking. This could come in real handy at times.
