I'd appreciate any opinions on using the Garmin 96 or 96c handheld GPS for VFR flying club flights. The planes at this club are steam gauge vintage 172s so a handheld would be helpful but the 1 x 2 screen on the 96 series makes me wonder if I should wait until I can spring for the more expensive 196 or 296. Any opinions?
