Currently living in the southeast with a Bonanza -- Does anybody know of locations where a GNS 530 or 430 could be purchased and installed at a cheaper cost than other locations.

Speaking of which, what would you say is the average cost for the 530 and 430 respectively?

If you are going to get one, I would say get the 430, IMO the 530 doesn't have enough to justify it's higher price.

I remember in a PA-32 that I flew, it had both, and they pretty did the same thing, just one had a bigger screen.

The 530 is a great piece of epuipment. I have used both. If you go with a 530 I highly recommend getting the TIS. Its a poor mans TCAS that uses an uplink with ATC's radar. It sure takes a load off while flying in busy airspace.

I've been told that Caris Midwest at TOP (about 40 NM from the factory) is at least one of the highest volume distributers for Garmin. I don't know how much you could save on installation, but they have people come from all over to install avionics. Call Chris at 785-357-7580. It might be worth the cost of fuel.

Hmmm......

Is that relationship platonic or is it more of a love hate kind of thing, sounds kinky…
