This may seem like a dumb question but...
I have a set of David Clarkes with the single prong plug (military) and want to see if I can use it for general aviation. Does anyone sell a conversion kit (two plug type) and if so what exactly do I want? Sorry if this is in a previous thread. I looked, but didn't find.

Cheers,

Also, in relation to your question....does anyone know of an adapter that allows the use of a GA headset in a military aircraft?

I have a set of ENC Dick Clarks that I would like to use in the Herk.

Thanks,
S

Headset Adapters

You can find various adapters to go from Military to Civilian, or Civilian to military. Check this site out here for example.

http://www.flyaas.com/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_CORDS_21.html

They run from $40-80. It all has to do with the difference in the impedence of microphones between military to civilian. Just connecting wires together is not the key, thus the higher cost. I assume they have some sort of resistor set in there to change that impedence to work how you intend it to.

I also have a nice set of military DC's that I would like to use in a civilian bird.
