Not too sure about the Rolls engines. But Pratt says that it would take one year in the Arizona desert, in blowing sand, to take one hour off the JT-15.

Bad valve lifters. Just tell the crew to throw a pint of Marvel Mystery Oil in the oil replenishment resevoir; she'll pure like a kitten.

The G4 uses a RR TAY. The same motor on the F100. How many times did you ever see KLM or AA put covers on, pop the TR's or lock the blades in place? I flew at AA for a few years and the answer is never.

Saw 5 KLM cityhopper F100 sitting at AMS in the early hrs, all had engine covers on today.
