I've heard that the G1000's have had an usually amount of tube failures since they were first made available.

Curious why you ask?

Greetings,

The majority of the problems have been pin failures in the wiring harnesses. Second are the occasional audio panel problems, even in non-g1000 aircraft, third is a potential emergency AD about flight control problems which have nothing to do with the G1000 themselves.

No crashes, yet. (Conduct superstitious ritual now)

I have approx 15 hours (I know, not alot) in the G-1000 equiped 182 and it has performed flawlessly for me at least. Havent heard anything else about problems.

About 200+ hrs in C182 w /Garmin 1000
Had one of the screens (MFD) replaced because it died on start up.
Had the audio panel replaced twice.
Have had several cautions about component failure while on the AUX status page everything was still green.(=ok)
Have some curious little bugs on the MFD, if you zoom in the map a little box appears with the endurance, it just jumps around erratically.
Me thinks it runs on Windows......LOL
