Look at it this way, at least we aren't stuck at CAL like you are. hehehe

Or are you trying to get on at UPS? If so, hopefully they will call and you can join all your squadron buds. ;-)

No squadron buds at UPS babe. However I've got them at FDX, SWA, JB, DAL, UAL, AA, and US Air. You interested? I'll tell them to put you right at the top - your attitude is exactly what the majors are looking for!

Well, I didn't know you needed a "point" to post. However, my point was to inform folks of what was going on in the current regional marketplace. As folks get on here and look for data points on which airlines to apply for, etc...nuggets like this can clue them in on whether they want to go down that avenue or not. I guess we'll have to ask the last 10 to 20 posters who posted profits/loses from various other airlines in the past what their "point" was as well.

Just out of curiosity, what experience do you have in the regional marketplace to be offering up "Advice"? Just curious. I heard mesa made money in the past i guess by your logic we should have all applied to Mesa.

Um....well....ok....whatever.

But what do you think this information will do? Do you think that because XJT lost money because of the start up costs associated with the branded flying, as well as the arbitration that it's curtains for Express? Guys should pull their apps and not show up for class simply because a loss was posted in a quarter where it was expected? Granted, the loss was bigger than anticipated due to the ruling, but it hardly means that ExpressJet is going to fall off the face of the planet and discourage guys from applying.

If you were to read here, would it have changed where you applied to?

Most majors are slowly doing away with 50 seat rjs so dont see the attraction. Plus Express doesn't own their airplanes, CAL leases them and sub-leases them to XJT so if they are bought, what are they getting?

XJT has the rights to those airplanes. That's the reason CAL couldn't take them back when they announced pulling them out of service.

CAL Bankruptcy 3

XJT Bankruptcy 0

I think we have awhile to worry about not existing.

Yep, we can all look forward to more low-ball bidding and "we can do it at cost-" contracts as xjet scrambles to stop the hemorrhaging. Welcome aboard lowest bidder airlines!

I agree that was the point of my post. your 100% correct.

Alright, I'll clarify myself one more time and then I'll let it be. If you need to further flame me or chuck spears, by all means go ahead.

I strictly posted this as FACTUAL data I got from a factual source about the current situation at XJT. I have no feelings either way towards them - I've never worked for them nor will I ever. I simply posted what is going on with their revenues. While I see your emotions of animosity, envy, or whatever it may be are getting the best of you and are aimed toward me, I simply stated in my first post the actual facts with absolutely no commentary or opinion from myself - nothing more, nothing less. People have posted numerous times on here airlines' current state in the industry - whether it be good or bad...and I was doing no different.

I know in the past people like CaptainOvers and Pocono Pilot have thrown numerous, unsolicited jabs towards CAL with no reasoning. I don't care about them, in all honesty I think they're way amatuer and extremely sophmoric. I'm content at CAL - and if they're content (along with yourself at XJT) by all means keep on working there.

This post was strictly a factual representation of the current standings at XJT. You can choose to deal with it in whichever manner you see fit.

I'm done here.

Are you sure you are a fighter pilot? Or a man for that matter?

I've never heard something sounding as gay as that coming from any of the men in my life. LOL

Please share you coveted information about XJT flying for at cost or low balling bids? If you cant your a moron for even posting such crap.

I just find it odd that you say you couldn't care either way about XJT, yet you went out of your way to post on the financials? I am going to guess you get bent out of shape about Pocono Pilot and just thought you would flame xjt. (in a mature way) Thanks for the information.

In all seriousness though, XJT and CAL are both good companies and lets hope the best for both. I do.

Scrapdog: You said that you would never work at XJT. How can you be so sure? This isn't the military. When Sept. 11 occured it happened that some CAL furloughees sought refuge at XJT. That was nice of XJT to allow that. I'm sure that many of those guys said that they would never work for a regional too. Don't ever be sure of anything in this business and have a gyro from the employees cafe in Newark. It's been a while and I miss those so much!

CM - I'll try the gyro one of these days! And no, I won't work for XJT. If a horrible act like 9/11 hit again, I'd be on military orders for a few years I'm sure, and it wouldn't be because of my choosing.

Best of luck - SD

Why not? Is it because you would be called to the military or you are just above flying for a "Regional'? Honest question

They did not allow that. It was a negotiated flow through which many took advantage of and also a flow back. It was predetermined before 9/11.

Yeah, you might be right about that detail. I do remember though that some CAL pilots came to XJT and probably weren't to happy, but they had a flying job. I guess my original point was to not be sure of anything in this industry. Usually stating that something WILL or WILL NOT happen sends the "aviation gods" into fits.

Judging by his profile, I'd go with the second part of your question...
