Well it looks like Sun Country is going to furlough 45 pilots:

High fuel costs have prompted Sun Country Airlines to give temporary layoff notices to 45 of its pilots.

The low-fare carrier, which increases flight operations in the winter months, has decided to fly a lighter summer schedule than previously planned, Wendy Williams Blackshaw, a Sun Country spokeswoman, said today.
Consequently, the airline will temporarily lay off 45 of its 156 pilots from May 1 through Oct. 31, Blackshaw said.

She said no other employee groups are affected by job cuts at the carrier, which is based in Mendota Heights.

Someone just reminded me that Sun Country transfers some of its airplanes to Europe every summer. If that's the case, does that mean that some furloughs during that time are to be expected? Have Sun Country pilots been allowed to fly around Europe in the past (is that even possible)?

Doesn't USA 3000 also furlough some pilots every summer?

We have sent airplanes/crews over to Europe in the past...not this year. Only the airplanes are going.

Great f&*king plan!
