What is Kalitta's financial strength? Is a Bankruptcy in their future or just a major cutback for 2009?

tj

Everything is paid for except the two 400s, and those are already half paid for. Connie is being smart and preserving cash for this economic down turn.

Are those the two ex-Malaysian combi BCF conversions from Guggenheim AP that were originally going to Cargo360 that Southern turned down?

The 2 we have now came from Malaysian.

Yes.

They are both ex MAS. Both are GE powered. Both are from Guggenheim. Both are BCFs converted Combis. Both were going to 360 and Southern.

I love your Avatar,

Ive had a few that could move so fast it looked like they had four eyes. (but then again I was cross eyed at the time)

Heard a rumor that Shrodie Air is gonna park five machines shortly...

Hiring, it will most definitely be after the 1st quarter, sometime after March. Part of this is due to the 777s being pushed back and also the fuel price hikes and all customers being affected. Other considerations are the aircraft in the inventory and the plans for them. A couple will reach their LOV, limit of validity from Boeing, and plans will be made when the time comes as to what to do with these aircraft. They will be due for major checks, but without support from Boeing, what will be the best choice at the time is the question. Giving the all the factors involved, new hire classes in the beginning of the year will probably not be until sometime after March. If you have anyone that may be looking at us in the future, please let them know it will most likely be after that date for new hires.

this was sent to the pilot last month from our CP.

Best wishes to all you guys at Kalitta, and everywhere else in tough straights. It's a difficult time of year and a difficult economic time to be looking for work. Many will have to make the dreaded decision about the whole "flying" thing.

If I have to take a job at Southern to keep flying, I just assume give up flying. No thanks on the 40 day trips.
