I hope it's not true but I did hear that Chicago Express has furloughed some pilots. If it is true, how many and when? Just curious. I suppose this would be attributed to ATA's scaling back. There's a great group of people over there (at least the ones I've met) and this would be a shame.

Same person told me that they stopped flying to MKE as well. This I haven't noticed and would surprise me because when I rode along on that route the plane plane was packed.

Anyone know what's going on over there?

ATA just dumped Indianapolis. See the thread in the Majors section. All the Chicago Express flying from Indy was terminated with no info on whether it would be moved elsewhere.

looks like Chicago Express may close end of March... details to follow today.

senior Chicago Express management says total closure and disbanding of the airline is expected on March 28th unless there is a sale.

Sorry to hear of your situation. Shuttle America is looking for 8 Saab FO's to start Feb 14. IAD and FWA base, majority in IAD. Fax your resumes to 260.479.6299. Interviewing this week and next. Good Luck. Preferential Interviews.

This makes me sick. I really hope that things will work out, in some way, shape or form.

Good way to put it....it makes me sick to my stomach that a profitable commuter was majorly f***ed up by incompetence.

For those pilots who are furloughed or soon to be, logon toexpressjet.com and apply on both the normal app and the furloughedpilot section. Mention that a furlough is projected.

Colgan's hiring Big Time for the Saab

Windy City Guys and Gulls...

Word has it from the Colgan Kremlin that there was or will be an impromptu mini job fair for Chicago Express employees put on by Colgan for hiring you guys for our expansion. Colgan's hiring at least 20/month for the rest of this year for the Houston CAL Ops as well USAirways expansion. Come on down! We'll put ya work plus I need a vacation.

www.colganair.com or try climbto350.com

That just sucks you guys... As someone else previously posted, Chicago Express is a top notch company that is getting screwed in to the ground by idiots. Hopefully something changes and you can stay operating.

Keep your chin up. It's easier said than done I know - but you have a great reputation in the industry and I certainly hope it will help you get a better job as quickly as possible.

Mesaba is still hiring and will for a while. Saab experience certainly wouldn't hurt. Heck, you guys use the same sims we do in MSP.

If this is true, I'm sorry to hear it. Best of luck to you all!

Seriously, log on to www.expressjet.com and apply via the furloughed pilots section. It's can't hurt. It would be an honor to fly with many of the C8 pilots again. A top notch group.

Oh, and capt. megadeth... I saw you on I-294 today. :D

I talked to an 3-4 different Coex captains while visiting family and they are deffinetly looking for more people. Props to COEX and the MEC for working to help.

I also applaud XJT & XJT ALPA for opening the door, but we're notsaving grace by any means. It would be an honor to fly with anyfurloughed Indy or Chicago employees. If your qualified to fly withthem, then you're welcome to do it here! Good luck to all- hope to seeyou soon.

Given the labor situation here at ASA, I'd have guessed I'd be the one out of a job this year, not my bro. I reminded him that we're hiring hand-over-fist. He smiled and said he'd make more on unemployment than he would as an ASA newhire F/O.

He's probably right.

To all you Windy City guys: I'm getting the impression that it's too early to tell how big a disaster this will be. Maybe ATA'll sell you guys to somebody smart and things will be okay. Maybe. Could happen.

Don't give up...and good luck.

A thread in the majors forum had a message from the ATA MEC which stated that Chicago Express would be sold. Is there any talk of who they might be sold to?

I know quite a few pilots over there and I know they are a great group of people. This sucks and I feel for you. I really hope everything turns out ok for you guys and gals.

Sorry to hear the bad news. Best of luck to you guys.

Also, I just wanted to thank you guys at C8 for letting me jumpseat to and from work with you.
You really helped out a freight dog-ex, now.
Good memories from the super8 in tol.

Good luck.

What's the deal? Chicago Express just built that refugee camp in the middle of the ramp in Indy, now they're leaving? And I thought the Gary route was punishment enough.

Natel? There was an offer on the table durring the backruptcy bidding that "wasn't taken seriously" and i think they are suing for the company now. it was a 35K bid for C8. Seemed silly at the time but who knows

Any body have any gouge on the ASA interviews?

Ha ha....where at? I was probably driving home from ORD. BTW, I saw you guys in Zihuatanejo....you guys fly to some cool places. What is the upgrade time at Expressjet?

Was that bid by that a$$wipe who bids ridiculous amounts and when he doesn't get it he sues for racism and discrimination? What a tool!

Are we talking Wexford?

Oh and mega, you followed me for like 10 miles and right off the 95th ramp. I know that license plate. ;)

FlyChicaga, I live in Chicago (wickerpark) and I just got hired by XJET. My class starts on Feb. 21. Where is your base? Do you commute from Chicago? When did you go through training?

Does this apply to all 121 pilots? I applied through the normal process, but I may be out of a job due to company problems (might close the doors) - should I apply through the furlough page also?

Thanks!
