Hey Folks,

Some people mentionned in previous posts the possibility to get a type rating paid for by some states in the event of a furlough.

Anybody has a little more information about that?

Thanks

Thank god for government hand-outs!!!

Do a google search for WIA funds in your state. The money comes from the feds, but the individual state determines who gets the money and how much. Some states pay full and others pay a percentage of the costs.

In 2002, I called Higher Power in Dallas and asked them if they knew where I should go to pursue WIA funding. They were very helpful then. You might try that as well as any other companies that provide training. They want the money as much as you do so they can help you find it.

Also contact K&S aviation out in PHX. My sim partner was on a full ride courtesy of the State of California. All states differ but give them a call and they will let you know if you qualify or not. Good luck.

Lived in Iowa, WIA cash came from Nevada, 73 type from Florida. All done over the phone and FedEx. Thank you Uncle Sam.
