Anyone have personal experience with FTI? How long does it take to get your initial 737 type? Thanks.

Does SWA care if you do the cheap 737 type or does it matter what version it is completed in?

Got my type last January from FTI, did it in the 200. SWA doesnt care what you get your type in as long as it says B737. FTI folks were great!

FTI was worth it!

I did my type there in 2002. Although I didn't get the job at SWA, it was worth it. From start to finish, I was there 13 days. The ground instructors knew that a/c inside out, but they taught you what you need to know as a pilot. I studied 2 weeks before getting there, and the ground stuff was a breeze. Sim work was straight forward, and as well, they were good. Type ride was fair and, I hate to admit it, easy. Non-threatening was the mood that night.

I think Sherri is a great asset to FTI. I did my type using WIA funds (for the most part), and she knew exactly who to call in my state. It was one-stop shopping. Very pleasant, friendly, and knowledgeable. I strongly recommend them.

Thanks for the replies. I decided to do FTI, already talked to Sheri, very cool. I have been hired at SWA just need to get the type done.

THanks

Not to be a skeptic, but if indeed you were hired at Southwest, I would presuppose you had more flight experience than indicated in your profile. Not too many pilots out there have the sumptuousness of getting all of their flight time in a turbine powered aircraft, and all of it PIC at that! I salute you Lieutenant Rickenbacker.
