I fly Frontier about 5 times a year round trip from MSP to various destinations(and my family travels on Frontier as well), and I noticed that the fares recently have been considerably higher then they have been over the last 2 years.

Is there any particular reason to this? It seems as if the prices have been about $200-300 more then they used to be. They have a few flights listed for about $700-800! I used to fly to all my destinations (Houston, DFW, Orange Country, Vegas…etc) for about 200-330(depending on time of year) It just seems that over the last few months of checking I have noticed a steep price increase. I thought they were a "low cost" carrier? I just checked online and noticed that the roundtrip flight from MSP-IAH in December was about $700-800.

I don’t mean to willfully send personal attacks, I am just curious as to why the recent prices are so much higher. I apologize for my ignorance.

Thanks in advance

I hear a couple of airlines have had profitability problems in the last 5 years, but I'm not sure.

thats what I was thinking as well. But I thought Frontier has always made profits every quarter so far this year...

I may be wrong though
