Frontier is quoted by Airline Business as telling its bankruptcy court judge that: "Absent additional cuts to its labor and other non-fuel costs, Frontier has little hope of survival." The union has a different take. "We're objecting because they cannot justify this financially and because it's outrageous to move high-paying jobs to Central America and line the pockets" of executives, union spokesman Matthew Fazakas tells the Rocky Mountain News. "Fuel is going down and they already have some of the lowest costs in the industry," Fazakas adds to Airline Business

However, Unlike the original US Air pilots, the Frontier guys, won't cave every time a CEO gives them a dirty look. They understand that it is they themselves that make up the "Union" not some fantasy boogey man that is responsible for their horrible lot in life.

That quote is from their 1113 motion to abrogate the Teamster's contract (mx, a/c cleaners). They're not trying to scare anyone, they're trying to convince the BK judge to grant them what they want. Their arguments seem pretty weak, especially when you read the IBT's filed objection, which fills it full of holes.

The pilot group is watching this very closely, as we are next up to bat...

The IBT objection is a fantastic read. It smacks down Frontier on every point. Yeah, F9 gave them 5000 pages of "data" to support the need for concessions: 2500 pages of paystubs in PDF format, and and 2500 pages of paystubs in Excel format, lol. The docket (#527) makes a mockery of the company's case, rather the complete lack thereof. They don't even have a bid from the contract MX company to use in projections.

Frontier leadership should be ashamed of themselves. And incidentally Chris Collins is a lying sack of sh!t who really needs to slither back to jetBlue. Every word he said during the last round of roadshows was false, with the exception of the threatened 1113c.

The pilots are voting on an extension of the current temporary agreemnent, to allow for more relaxed negotiations on a long term deal. It will probably pass, and then we'll get to see how the Teamsters do in their 1113 hearing October 3. Sad to let the IBT carry our water for us, but such is the game.
