Please, post a copy of the union message

F9 Driver said:
I just saw on our union message board that a Frontier pilot's friend got the news that the 9/8 class was canceled with hiring suspended UFN.

Union rep said that hiring plans have changed a few times lately with the change to hourly being at least partly to blame.

I'll post whenever I hear anything new.
Could you cut and paste a copy for the masses? I have a couple of friends that have interviews in September.

Thanks,

Jeff

From a F9 Captain who saw this on the the FAPA site today.

"We are very pleased with the membership ratification of the Tentative Agreements for Sections 4 and 5 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The effort to make these changes has been underway for well over a year and we believe the new pay and scheduling rules will greatly benefit both our pilots and the Company. My thanks to everyone involved on behalf of the Association and the Company. This was a long, arduous process that will require even more work ahead.

We are now beginning the implementation of these changes. This involves significant changes to our way of building schedules, lines of flying, and payroll. In the course of this transition questions and situations will arise that will challenge everyone. Please ask your questions and raise the issues. We have worked through countless scenarios in developing these sections but it is impossible to anticipate every possibility. We ask that everyone understand the complexity of the task at hand and be patient as we implement these changes. The BOD is committed to working through issues that arise, and making the adjustments to ensure the best outcome for the pilots and the Company. I have received assurances from Jim Sullivan, Sean Menke, and other senior managers that they will work cooperatively and constructively to ensure the success of this changeover.

Over the next week we will begin to provide answers to questions you may have and details of the implementation.

At this time, in addition to the BOD, all our Scheduling Committee members are involved. In order to implement the software side of the scheduling and pay issues, a project team has been formed with the Company and members of FAPA."

My buddy indicated it will be a a few months to impelement the program and therefore the companies hiring plans have been altered. The fact is that they will need more pilots but not right at this moment. So they should keep you in the pool slightly longee then they planned on initailly a few months ago.

Good luck!

A fine example of a run on sentence.

Alright...allllriiiight!! :D

Cut the guy some slack...he's trying to post some helpful info!

Crashpad, I tried and tried but I just couldn't read that whole sentence with one breath.
Exactly! My wife says that's pretty much how I yammer-on after the morning coffee. The obscure point I wanted to make was: Unless you hear it from HR, it's still subjective conjecture. There are many variables, but Frontiers' plan for continued steady growth remains a constant.

Anyone slated for a class that's cancelled should not dispair too much. While the timing is more inconvenient than the oily-wafers you get from a burrito at Que Buenos, you'll feel much better once you're on board.

Oh Oh, I was right

For all F9 hopefulls, I got an email cancelling my interview in September, however, F9 said (in the same email) they'll call me back as soon as they can. And so, let the wait continue, sigh.....
Any one else?

Ricky and Daddy;

I'm sorry. If there is ever a good reason to postpone a class, then making sure everything is in place when you get on board is a good thing. Look at it this way, a decision was made to enhance efficiency/profit and thereby further secure your future with Frontier. When you get onboard there will be many more benefits awaiting you that we presently do not have.
We're all grateful for your patience and definitely look forward to your arrival.
I'll try to pick you out of the class and and treat you to lunch at my favorite restaurant.....

Thank you

Crashpad:
Thanks for the kind words. I'll take you up on your offer, and will second it with a promise of libations (on me) after work time. By the way, you shouldn't have a problem finding me in a crowd. I sound like your avatar (Scarface) when I talk.
Mai naim is tonee montana, sai helo tu mai little frend!

Thanks, crashpad...more pay and benefits, secure future, free lunch, libations...all good things...sign me up!

Got the cancellation email as well. Bummer. Any idea how long before interviews will resume? I guess if those in the pool won't be in training for a few months, they won't even be interviewing for 3 or 4 months. Do you think that is the case? I've had my sights set on F9 for years and was so psyched to finally get the interview--when I got the cancellation notice I have been totally down in the dumps. I'm sure it will be worth waiting for, but I'd sure rather wait in the pool than on the deck!

Thanks for the info.

One nice thing about F9 is the flow of communication throughout the company.
It's pretty honest and consistent, so we'll be keep our ears out for you guys and post info. as we get it.

Whats up with all the military pilots getting the interviews at F9. Do they secretly wish all applicants to have some sort of Mil time or something. Man...I just don't get it. Do you think if i pretend that i have military time they will eventually give me an interview as well?!?! Oh well, i will just continue to fly my Lear 100+ hours a month until they give me a shot...I can't wait to fly less and be paid more at the same time. I'm just down in the dumps with all the news about hiring slowing or stopping for awhile.

Our Fleet Manager in charge of the pilot hiring proccess is a retired Colonel, so there may be a slight preference for us military sorts (very different than a few years ago, when all they required was a Metroliner check-out), however, internal recommendations are the best way to get your foot in the door. I heard from the Fleet Manager that a candidate with 10 internal recommendations was denied a job offer because he didn't look like he would "fit in" during the interview, so regardless of how you get the interview offer, know that everyone is solely judged on their interview performance.

By the way, being in the pool is great, but it doesn't necessarily put you into a class before someone who has not interviewed yet. The pool is designed as an emergency reserve just in case marketing demands an increase in flying in a short period of time. I know of several new-hire pilots that have been offered classes before those in the pool were assigned classes. Hope this helps.
