I just got an invitation to an "assesment session" for a Ramp Agent position at Frontier here in Denver. I do not plan to make ramp work my career, obviously. But can anybody give me a feel for how Frontier treats internal, or formerly internal applicants for pilot positions? Does being a current employee or having rendered prior service count for much in the selection process?
The thing is I'm furloughed from a regional, and I'm sure that my stagnant qualifications are woefully lower than whatever minimums F9 would dream up should they start hiring. So I'd need a real sweet deal as far as preferential hiring to make slinging bags worth my while. Also this is working on the ramp, a long ways from HQ, HR, and the Chief Pilot - there would be minimal contact with such decision makers. So I humbly ask for any opinions or experiences in this regard.
I am now employed, so it's not like I'll starve if I don't go with Frontier. Just wondering if it's worth the upheaval. Thanks again.
