Whispers at RAH that Wexford Capital wants Republic to purchase Frontier - anyone over there here anything along these lines?

I don't know how they're losing money. The past couple months, I've been on them several times and the flights have been full and the terminal packed.

Nice bunch of people. Good luck. TC

Wexford has been tied to Frontier since the late 90's. They had loaned 15 million at one point and received some stock warrants. I'm not sure what their current position is, but Arthur Amron (one of the principals with Wexford) served on the board of directors with Frontier during the late 90s.

I remember there being a rumor at CHQ as far back as 2001 about a deal between Frontier, National (which Wexford was also invested in), and CHQ. So, it's been around a while. I just don't see it materializing though, unless there was some obvious finacial gain for Wexford so they could get a return on their investment.

Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers. Mr. Addoms will continue to serve as a member of the Company's Board of Directors through the remainder of his term, which expires at the Company's annual meeting on September 6, 2007. As a result of his retirement, Mr. Addoms will not be a nominee for the Company's Board of Directors to be submitted to shareholders for vote at the annual meeting.

I wish Frontier would merge with JetBlue. The route systems would fit together nicely, same planes, and no problem integrating the seniority lists. (yeah, right!)

Hey, maybe the E190 can do Eagle or Aspen?

Any airline can make money!!!

We at Frontier are a whole different animal and buck all tends!!! Would you jump off the bridge if everyone was doing it? I didn't think so.

LOL. Yeah, making money is for sissies! Better to be the best-loved airline :)

Word is Republic will be sub-merged by the end of the year to protect flying and reduce cancellations on the express routes.

Ha Ha - pretty good!

The reality is, with over $1B/year in revenues and plenty of $$$$s in the bank, not to mention Wexford's golden boy in charge, stranger things have happened.
I, personally dont think it'll happen as BB is making boatloads of money doing what he knows best.
