A lot of Netjets pilots justifiably upset about the ridiculous TA. In the event that there is an exodus from Netjets, do you think CS would be a much better place to be? Some positives about CS:

1. Better gateway system for newhires going forward
2. Automatic 8/7 or 7/7 vs. 17 day mixed schedule at NJA (until you have seniority to bid 7/7) - although I think TA offers 7/7 for all (not sure?)
3. 50+ Sovereigns on the way (uncertain # Sovereigns for NJA)
4. Perceptably better management-pilot relations at CS
5. Many people claim better pay - especially for new Captains

Some potential negatives for some people: clearly CS does not have the mix of different aircraft types (due to Cessna relationship) or the potential international travel that NJA has to offer (probably important for some pilot candidates). CS upgrading appears to be merit based - that may be difficult for some pilots who expect to upgrade in the normal seniority fashion...

Overall, CS seems to be a pretty good deal. It may not be a perfect place, but at least management-pilot relations appear to be pretty good and the gateway system will offer more flexibility going forward for newhires. So, if you like the fractional lifestyle and you want to fly new aircraft, CS appears to be a pretty good choice - and I am sure a lot of NJA pilots might be taking a second look soon...

Personally, I'd love to fly one of those CJ1s - seems like a fun airplane to fly (I prefer the shorter hops now - nice glass cockpit too).

Heavy Set,

Have you found work yet? Are you in SoCal?

Outlook??????????????

Sorry about my ignorance, but who is CS?

And also; For NJ:
What is the upgrade time now?
What's the Sen. # of least senior Capt?
What does the vacancy award look like for upgrade?
What is the lest senior FO #?
Is there more planes on order?

Thanks,

I need help to make a decision.

What does TA stand for? Nevermind -- just saw it on the other post.

Listen to him...stay away.

One of the basic tenets of job security is SENIORITY. The more pilots BELOW you, the better off you are (generally) in case of furloughs, layoffs etc... For a pilot at ANY airline to say, "stay away," should be an indication of how bad things might be there. Good luck to you either way.

Other Netjet people out there looking at CS too? Is it a case where a Netjets pilot would want to stay in the fractional business because he/she likes the fractional business or would most be looking at getting into part 121 flying? I have heard great things about CS (and its management/pilot relations) and there could be some growth opportunities with the big Sovereign and CJ3 orders....

Anyone know when the Sovereign will arrive on the CS property? Nice airplane...

Cs

I interveiwed with CS and found them very unorganized and actually just an extension of Citation Marketing.
I had to travel halfway across the country on my own expense and never received one thank you for my efforts.
They require that you move to one of there gateways also at your own expense.
I feel that since I was not one of there buds from the northeast, I did not fit the grove.
I only have 20 years of corporate exp. I think eventually Cessna will own 100 percent of CS.

One person's opinion. I found them to be very organized and professional. As far as an extension of Marketing, what do you expect, their business depends on selling new airplanes to grow the business.(which is happening)

I had to travel halfway across the country on my own expense and never received one thank you for my efforts.

Half True. You have to get yourself to the interview from where ever you live, be it next door or "halfway across the country".

Half False. I received nothing but extreme politeness and courtesy the entire time I was in HQ for my interview.

They require that you move to one of there gateways also at your own expense.

True. You have to reside within 120 minutes from your base of choice. There are 20 to chose from.

I feel that since I was not one of there buds from the northeast, I did not fit the grove.

False again. You do not need to be one of their "buds from the northeast". My class consisted 23.8% from the northeast, 23.8% from the south, 28.6% from the south, 14.3% from the west, and 9.5% from the mid-west. Quite a cross-section. I personally did not know anyone there when I interviewed. I was still hired.

I only have 20 years of corporate exp. I think eventually Cessna will own 100 percent of CS.

Again, only opinion. What would be the negative of Cessna owning 100%.

Heck yeah. If I were a NJA pilot right now I'd be looking at CS. Better relations, better domicile opportunities for newhires, great aircraft (I like the look of that Sovereign), good schedules for EVERYONE - not just senior people, and good pay. You bet I'd be sending my stuff over to CS if I were in that position.

The Truth....

Guys....

Read between the lines on Citation Shares.... There is absolutly no complaining on this board from CSV Pilots. That means a lot. Also you don't have to know anyone at the company to get hired. I didn't and was treated with the utmost respect and admiration and was thanked repeatedly for coming up to the interview. There are so many apps in for the jobs that internal recommendations do help considerably but are not required. I have yet to fly with a disgruntled pilot and have a good time at work and look forward to my tours. You will find this as the norm, not the exception at CSV.

Good luck... and as I've said before: Glass half empty types need not apply.

PS- Most avaition jobs will not pay for you to relocate when you are hired. Quit complaining.
