Today's Wall Street Journal had a front page story about the check flying business. Except for the fact that the author made a point of stressing that planes with propellers are used, I thought the article was pretty good. One pilot profiled in the story is based out of Dallas and appears to fly for AirNet. Made me wonder if he hangs out around here.

That would be Fred. I knew him when I flew the props out of DAL. It is probably more accurate to say I knew of him, he probably didnt know me from Adam. Real nice guy, but he doesnt strike me as the type to surf the web, let alone hang out on an internet chatroom.
Not to sound critical of yet another aviation related article, but I thought that it put freighters in a rather bad light. I was a little dissapointed being an avid Journal reader.

Really, You don't think Airnet is like a "Pirate ship and an orphanage"?
Nothing against Walt, but what did that mean?? Maybe the rest of the anology got edited out. I mean I usually dont go and commender another aircraft, but if your plane is down you gotta do what you gotta do. I would tell some jokes involving pirates in the air but I dont want to end up being investigated by the FBI.
