How many airplanes are they flying and what are the growth plans?

How many are flying now? Are we getting a list of these scumbags pilots helping to start this thing??

Are they able to get the pilots they need or are they having trouble filling the seats?

You hit on ALPA's real beef with Freedom Air!

Duane Woerth is running around trying to convince everyone the "natural dividing line" is 50 seats, when - OH MY GOD - a CRJ900 can be flown by a CL65 pilot with differences training - shhh - don't let anyone know.

Why aren't Mesa guys as angry about ALPA's J4J and Mid Atlantic? Why does anyone think scabbing means anything to ALPA when Duane Woerth shares cake an ice cream with Continental's scabs during a photo op welcoming them back into the union (without a penny of back dues)?

Don't get me wrong - I do not support Freedom Air, not a bit. But ALPA can not claim the moral high ground when they negotiate the creation of their own alter ego to subvert the scope of Express pilots, while at the same time decrying the creation of an alter ego that subverts the scope of Express pilots.

There is a marked for 70 seaters.

There is a scope clause that prevent Mesa Airgroup to place them on the Mesa Airlines certificate. But Mesa has 3 certificates: Mesa Airlines, Air Midwest and CCAIR, and J.O had the opportunity to put the 70 seaters on any of them after some adjustments, ( adjustments that would have been cheaper than starting a new certificate. )Our union does not disagree with starting up Freedom either, as long as all flying is done by our pilots under one contract and one seniority-list. This solution require J.O to negotiate with our union and that is were the problem is..............

I not agree with either of the companies, but there is a difference; Freedom was created mainly to crush Mesas union.

The main purpose of the "Express Newsletter" is to educate us "Express" pilots on why restrictions on our job progression to larger aircraft, undermining our scope and negotiating position is good for us.

I'll go read mine again and try to find out why giving up ASA's CRJ700's to furloughed Delta pilots who absolutely refuse to talk about a merger, or any sort of reprocity, is good for me. Just like J4J is good for Mesa guys.

I am not sure if I follow you ( its getting late ). With our pilots I mean pilots currently on Mesas certificate. There is no agreement about J4J @ Mesa. Our management wants it but will not give us pilots anything for it in return.In any way the J4J limits to 50 seaters or less for Mesa, larger RJ's has to be flown by MA if it is U's flying you are talking to. No direct connection about J4J and the start of Freedom, and U's scope could have been easily worked around.
U's scope that all larger ( more than 50 seater ) RJ's are to be flown by MA is a conflict between the WOs and U Mainline.
There are no scope @ AWA that prevents any carrier to fly larger jets for them, and Mesa Airgroup signed a contract to fly those planes.
Will our negotiation team and Alpa mec work to capture that flying from Freedom?
Of course. I belive we would allready had the 70 seaters on our cert if we would have accepted our current ( or freedoms ) payscale and sold us out short. We just want fair pay for the flying we do.
