Does anybody know where I can download software for keeping up with your logbook? Something basic that doesn't cost anything.

Thanks!

Also, Garmin just put one out. It is really designed for use with the GPSMAP 196 but can be used manually too. It is at http://www.garmin.com/ then go to the GPSMAP 196 page and you'll find a link to download it.

The one from forpilots.com says it's shareware, but when you read the description it says "This software is distributed as fully-functional shareware, with no disabled features, time expirations, or other headaches."

So is it share/free or on the honor system ware?

It would be considered share/honor-system ware. You register one piece of software and get access to the developer's entire library which includes the cross-country planner and other titles. I think it's only $32 or something in that range.

P.S. LA Confidential: I love that phrase in your signature :D It's a classic.

I went into Microsoft Excel and created all the different categories for the logbook and put every entry that was in my logbook in Excel. It took me about 3 hours. It's nice to know that all my time adds up to the correct amount on the computer as it does in my logbook.
