I need help.

I have a friend who suspects that his "co-captain" obtained his ATP, and type fraudulently, as well as his (FAA) ATP writtens, and his instrument.

This belief is based on the co-captains total inability to control the aircraft, without autopilot, and his total lack of basic aviation knowledge.

I am certain this is not the first, and will not be the last example.

My problem is what advice can I give to my friend, (they are outside the US at present), to try and eliminate this additional danger to general Aviation.

Thank you in advance.

Bumz.

how the heck do you obtain your FAA writtens, IFR or ATP, fraudulently? It would require a very huge payoff to someone working at the FAA.

It just doesn't sound realistic. It is possible the guy had a very easy examiner and just prepared for each checkride, for the checkride and not to the point where he was remotely competent.

As for fake foreign tickets, now that maybe possible.

Are they planning on coming back to the U.S. anytime soon? I hate to be a narc, but you could report it to the FAA.

I would tread very carefully if I were you.... You need to realize that just due to your "friend's" opinion about this individual's ability, skill level, etc, may not dictate you taking it upon yourself to step into this matter.

If your "friend" has some issue about this pilot and has concerns about whether or not he can safely operate this plane then this is a matter and issue that he personally should take up with the owner/operator/cp/do/etc.

I would stay out of this one if you are not involved with this company/operation and you have no first hand knowledge of this person's credentials and skill level.

I probably would tell him to take it upon himself to make the next move. Some things are beyond your responsibility, this being a perfect example in my opinion.

Forged (?) credentials

This sounds like Fate is the Hunter, when Ernest Gann was flying inaugural DC-4 flights from Hawaii for Matson Steamship Airlines. One of the pilots he flew with, who, interestingly, was a "co-captain," claimed to have all qualifications, including navigator. Gann wrote this pilot could barely take a navigation sighting and could not fly. The guy apparently had BSed his way into other flying jobs with the same results.

Your "friend" might think that he/she knows everything about this pilot, but really may not. By not knowing what he/she is talking about and going to someone in authority, your friend could slander this person. Let others figure it out, if there's anything to figure out. Tell your "friend" to stay out of it.

New Definition to PFT>>>Ha!

"Paid for Tickets"...I agree by the way with 350 above...be vary Careful......I would advise your friend to call his company ombudsman to report his feelings, all is needed are some basic checks to prove his integrity.

I am involved albeit indirectly.
He holds a FULL FAA ATP, and Heavy metal type rating, and exercises it on his private chunk of aluminum.
The gentleman concerned is of middle eastern persuasion, and very rich.
I am told he completed his type and ride after, 6-7 time the normal sim time, with 4 assesment rides.
Remotely competent is quite a qood sumation of his skills.
I suggested to my friend that perhaps there was a mistake, but reached the conclusion that there is no mistake.
The date on his ATP writtens, if correct suggests that time travel is closer than we think, as he was over 6000 miles away, on the morning, of the test.
I am reluctant to suggest "narc" as a solution but pointed out that he owes it to the fellow aviators to at least get a second unbiased opinion. Perhaps a ramp check, and full training record assesment.

I await more input from my professional guides. Remember you are sharing the skys....

No, methinks he's thinking of "heavy metal" the 1981 animated sci-fi flick.

This is one of the stupidest post ever. An IOE check guy or sim guy would pick up on this. If your buddy has problems with this guy tell him to call professional standards. If he is rich Arab, then yes, he may have paid to get close to where he is, thats not unimaginable by any means, but the airline checks this guy. OH football game is back oon enough babbling

Heavy metal is issued by FSI if the bill is in excess of 10k....
Does FSI do anything for less than 10K??

I think my last rating was 40K+

Dumbest post in a while....Back to Europe, Eurotrash!

I wouldn't worry about it; Darwin has a way of taking care of such matters.

DCCA320, this is a private owner, if you had not noticed. Yes money buys anything....if not buys then at least rents..... My last rating cost over 40K too.....thanks to all the posters, your input was most welcome...tomorrow I go to TEB, see if we Brits can plant two G4 trees.....

Unfortunately though, most of the time they not only take themselves, but their co-pilot, and entire families down with them.
