Saw it on Fox, as well - they reported that the local *ABC* affilliate in LA was reporting an explosion at LAX.

My dirty little secret

I'm watching Fox in a hotel room.

They got a "parking facility supervisor" (no joke) to "report" that a "flashlight exploded" and "injured 7 people".

And she "heard that the bomb squad people are on their way."

There you have it. You heard it here first.

Wow, maybe the tsA minions that gave me such a hard time about my flashlight a few years ago were on to something!

Rumple...

I appreciate you providing links and all, but with so many of these sites changing the stories minute by minute, sometimes it would be helpful - - provide for more constructive discourse - - if we could all see what the text is and start our conversation from the proverbial "same page."

Here's what the link shows now:
LOS ANGELES — Several terminals at Los Angeles International Airport (search) were shut down early Saturday because of a possible security breach at one terminal and the apparent explosion of a flashlight battery during screening at another, authorities said.

The two incidents appeared to be unrelated, said FBI (search) spokeswoman Cathy Viray.

Viray had no additional information about the security breach but said the scare at the international terminal apparently came when a flashlight battery exploded as it was being screened by a Transportation Security Administration (search) worker.

"When it was going through screening, the TSA individual touched it and at that point it exploded," she said.

She said the separate security breach happened around the same time in a terminal used by United Airlines.
Two unrelated incidents: 1) a security breach at the terminal used by United Airlines 2) a flashlight explosion at the international terminal

Now, what was that about Fox being total idiots? Did someone else report the story earlier?
