I googled this and couldn't seem to find it
does anyone have a formula to calculate Jet Fuel expansion ? We had a trip which involved us topping the King Air off fully, to the rim, the other morning, expecting a wheels-up shortly after top-off.
Trip cancelled, plane sat on hot ramp (KSAT), temps 35C+, fuel started leaking out.
Does anyone have a "the temp is XXX, reduce fuel load by YYY" to prevent this ?
Next time we are just gonna top off 100 LBS below max each tank but I was wondering if anyone had a more scientific way of doing it.
