I don't think there is ANY validity to this. Crossing a picket line? Come on! I don't care who does it- if some pilot group, regardless of company, is willing to fight and take back what was wrongfully taken away from the pilot profession as a whole, they have my full support. East or West, it affects the ENTIRE industry, and every airline pilot in it. Besides, effectively, there is now a THIRD list of independants at USAirways now. Would the west pilots screw them too, even though they had nothing to do with the seniority issues that occoured prior to their being hired? I'd certainly hope not!
If USAirways strikes, they should be backed 100% by their professional colleagues at Delta, American, United, Alaskan, and all the others. They will CERTAINLY have my support!
Heard it was a good turnout in Charlotte a few weeks ago for picketing. Hopefully the pressure builds and the insdustry professionals start gaining contractual ground, one airline at a time!
Conversely, if a group of pilots chooses to avoid building the unity necessary to accomplish such noble goals (just to weild their power of numbers in defiance of prior agreements), don't they too deserve the contempt of all pilots? The east pilots are entrenching the status-quo because that's all they can accomplish without the west. These bankruptcy-era wages are part of the so-called "market rates" against which all other pilots will have to struggle.
Power should be brought by all pilots to pressure USAPA to abandon their DOH aspirations and mend fences with the west to move forward and do their part to raise the bar of pilot pay and benefits.
Better yet, support the replacement of USAPA with a bi-partisan union that can actually accomplish something for the benefit of the piloting profession.
Since when does longevity equal seniority? If you have been there for 20 years and are still on the bottom you are junior.
.
The WEST is totally content with the EAST pilots pathetic BK contract. It brings them pleasure to know that LOA 93 inflicts tremendous damage, not only on the EAST pilot group, but on the entire industry.
The WEST is willing to hold on to the Nic award at ALL cost. Even if it guarantees the infinity of THEIR pathetic contract!! This in itself proves how much of a WINDFALL the Nic award IS.........

Sorry dude. East Pilots are singularly responsible for this mess. Don't like your pathetic BK contract? Too Effing bad!! You're right. Nobody gives a schitt about your LOA93 problems. USAPAs legal problems will NEVER go away if they stick with the DOH scam.
You honestly think that furloughed pilots should be able to replace line holding captains in the event of mass furloughs is a Windfall for the WEST?
You're out of your mind. You would be wise to start accepting the fact that you will not see any contractual gains for years. YEARS...if ever. You all are sleeping in the bed you made. No sympathy here, (if you couldn't tell)
You guys have the majority and you own the Union. What's the problem? Why so impotent? I thought as soon as evil old ALPA and their "nefarious" schemers were gone, life would return to the year 1983 when all was perfect?
