It just keep getting better...

I have a buddy up in Canada that just sent me this letter issued by ACPA (Air Canada's Union)

************Urgent**********************
**** "J" Class Seat - Captain Deadheading ****

August 29th, 2007
Ladies and Gentlemen/Mesdames et Messieurs,

The Company has removed one of our members from line service under threat of discipline under Article 29 of the Collective Agreement. He has been removed due to his insistence on his contractual rights under LOC 2 (Captain "J" Class D/H). ACPA and its entire membership will employ all available resources in the
vigorous defense of our member and colleague from this punitive and unfounded action.

As an initial response, I have instructed our committees to suspend discussions with the Company immediately. If the Company doesn't see fit to employ respectful dialogue in order to address its issues and chooses, instead, to hold an individual pilot out of service on threat of discipline in order to forward its own policy agenda, then ACPA shall not engage it in those situations where the Company chooses, in its own interest, to accept dialogue as the appropriate means of conflict resolution.

Please check regularly for more information which will be forthcoming from your Association.
Fly safe and respect your contract.

In solidarity,
