ELAL

A Buddy who is Jewish said he may be eligible to work for EL AL. Not sure about the details though.

Okay, TOTALLY off topic but...

...hey, BMD, where did you get that avatar? I'd like a copy of the jpg if you've got it...

Many foreign countries require JAA certificates.
A source for information about this is NAR, they have JAA/FAA programs with most of the training in the US. Their site is: http://www.nordic-aviation.com/

Carlton,

I'm going to put your post down to the childish rantings of someone who really doesn't know anything about '89 other than what you've read on Pprune. The man asked about what it was like for Americans to get jobs overseas. I don't think your reply was in anyway indicative of how the majority of Australian pilots feel, especially the ones that are lucky enough and extremely grateful to be flying in the US.

To my American colleagues out there, ignore this idiot, most Aussies are extremely easygoing and would happily fly with you in OZ. There's just the little matter of the legal right to live and work there.

G'day.

I sent you a PM as well, but for the benefit of those who want to know there are quite a few places that Americans have worked and are working overseas. It isn't as good as it used to be since the global airline slowdown has put downward pressure on wages and some pilots from less prosperous nations are willing to work for a whole lot less than Americans.

A partial list of places that are decent and that have or have had Americans is:

China Airlines ( Taiwan )
Cathay Pacific
Dragonair
Emirates
Saudi Arabian
EVA
Korean
Asiana
Singapore
Gulf Air
All Nipon
Japan Airlines
Japan Air System

The major caveat to this is they usually only hire current and qualified pilots with the exceptions of Emirates and Cathay.

Also worth a look if someone is interested in this line of work are the contracting agencies like PARC, Rishworth, and IAC Global to name a few.

Dear Carlton,

Please refrain from posting any further comments here unless you are going to offer intelligent posts, as opposed to vindictave, off-base, childish tripe. I hate SCABS too, but your attack on Kenny was the work of a 14 year-old. Also, Carlton....Until you are putting food on the table with stick and rudder, let us professionals worry about the SCABS eh son?

Warmest Regards,

Apparently Carlton decided to delete his last post, which saves me the effort of calling him a "Sh1t stirring w@nker".

I don't know what his problem is or why he's decided to start posting flaimbait now. I'd forgotten how much insight into the aviation world 100 hours of 172 time gives you, so it's probably better to ignore him.
