Hey,

Just out of curiosity (I'm not in the aviation industry):

Given that the U.S. job market for pilots isn't the best right now, has anyone looked into foreign markets? How about Central America, South America, Australia, Europe, etc? Do any of the U.S. licenses, ratings, etc. transfer? How is the lifestyle?

A US certificate can easily be converted in to a foreign license in some countries while other nations are rather complicated, time consuming and costly. For example; conversion to EU is not easy, while conversion to some Middle Eastern countries are not too complicated.

There are some US registered aircrafts operated outside the USA that need US certified pilots. One typical example of this is the many corporate jets that are in the Middle East and also some in Europe.

The big problem is the right to work and abode,I have a JAA,but not the right to work and it is hard to get(unless you marry someone in the EU,and that would cause me somewhat a a problem).Mobs

I was in Turkey about 8 years ago to pick up a Turkish registered Westwind. 2 days later viola...a Turkish license.
