Typhoon--What was your DOH at USAir? A bunch of my FO's when I was on the DC9 bailed at TWA and went over there. Congrats on the upgrade at EK!TC

Although I count myself very fortunate to have been furloughed for 7 years and 3 months after the first Gulf War. That experience made it very easy for me to find a job when I started looking.

A lot of these guys who are going to be on the street soon haven't had to look for a job for 20 years or more. Sure, some of them won't even bother with flying jobs as they may have other options, but a lot will and they need to refresh the skills necessary to find jobs; apply; and interview.

I did meet at least one ex-TWA guy when I went back to Airways in 1999. He lived in Pittsburgh and flew for the guard/reserve unit there so it made sense for him to leave. We've got three ex-TWA guys that I know of at Emirates.

It heartens me to see guys get back on their feet after doing their "time" at USAirways or TWA. And you're right about guys now having to look for work after 20 years. I receive several emails each week from buddies at U about what they should be doing now. Just got one from an Airbus Captain there in the top 10% who wanted info on the application/interview process at JB.

It's unfortunately taken this long, after repeatedly believing the ALPA rhetoric of "we're here to save jobs" (Garland Jones, BOS LEC Rep 10/8/04) to realize that in reality, each of us is on our own and need to make hard decisions based upon what is best for our own families. After seeing ALPA roll over time and again, especially this latest 1113(e) court hearing fiasco, it's obvious they don't. And what floors me the most is: Where's ALPA national been during this whole USAirways debacle? Conspicuously quiet.

One of my friends, who is a furloughed US Air guy told me that Jet Blue has stopped hiring US Air pilots because of their negative attitudes. Any truth to that?

Absolutely false.
