I am starting some ACM in my airplane (instruction by current and former fighter guys) and am looking for some military pubs on the subject.

Can anyone help out?

I second what VaB says. ;)

Seriously, a really good book is Fighter Combat: Tactics and Maneuvering by Robert L. Shaw.

Covers everything from theory of maneuvering 1v1 to division tactics.

I have Shaw's book. His book is a good read but was looking for something directly from the military.

Shaw has actually came to a gathering we had a few years back and taught a bit of ACM. He did some flying with some the guys in the Yak-52 and got spanked more than once. This past weekend we had Willy Driscoll speak to our group. He gave an awesome talk! Ironic that you mention Top Gun as Cruise's characted is loosely based on Duke Cunningham.
