? for DC-10 DRVRS

I have a mechanic friend who says that the T/R'S can be deployed in flight on the DC-10.He does C checks on them.The only jet i know to deploy the t/r's in flight are those NASA G-II's.I don't think they can do that,but need someone whos knows for sure.

I do not know about the DC-10, but you sure could on the DC-8.

Made lots of noise, shook like the devil and came down really fast.
