I understand that by "this summer", pilots from the WO's can expect calls for MDA. And according to a recent code-a-phone, the list is in the process of being finalized and should be available for the rank and file in a few weeks. Apparently, WO'd pilots will be able to complete a "bid sheet" on which they can express their interest in the flow-through, with 4 options. 1) not interested (upcoming retirees?) 2) interested in mainline only (years down the road?) 3)captain position at MDA 4) first available at MDA. This info comes from a union official, and I do not, forever trying to be optimistic, consider it rumor.

I have heard a rumor stating that the powers-that-be, with the apparent lack of interest that the APL pilots are expressing in FO positions at MDA and the expected interest that WO'd pilots might have, are considering street hiring for MDA until the Dash retirements catch up with staffing. I guess if enough people flow up (or over, depending on your opinion), they are expecting staffing problems at the WO's, since we are short right now as it is. I don't understand this rumor, since our (ALG's) restructuring agreement is especially poor for new hires (read: economical for the company). But if this is indeed the case, the WO'd pilots who are passed over must get retroactive seniority and MDA pay in the interim.

Oh, by the way, Dash 8, I stared and stared at your avatar, trying to figure out what in the world I was staring at. It suddenly hit me, I spend way too much time prowling these message boards and I need to get out more. And you, my friend, spend way too much time prowling those x-ray camera voyeur websites! But there's absolutely nothing wrong with a little toe...

"I understand that by "this summer", pilots from the WO's can expect calls for MDA"

AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH spring is in zee air and just on time arrives the next big "hope" (maybe by now we should call it "hype") for the doomed ALG and PDT guys. Last year it was "jet are comming" and for years before things like "flowthru" or "flowthru and jets" and the ever popular "RJ's are just a fad".

This summer comming to a broke dick, run down, rat infested crew room in your domacile we have "this summer" or "this summer MDA". Like a fish on a hook we just get strung along. With our running record and luck just as they get to the WO list mainline will announce that all remaing E170 orders are going to CHQ as we no longer have cash to finance the rest. Then its back to the DASH for you old WO boy, "THIS SUMMER", can't wait, not holding breath.

Word is on the ALPA board that the company has exhausted the APL list for F/O positions at MDA. (MAA)

I think they have to run the list back up and give everybody a shot again, but judging from the takers so far it probably will not change much.

It appears from what I have seen that no one is leaving jobs to go there. So far the only takers appear to be the pilots that are not currently flying. I know my current corporate job is much better than flying the positions offered so far.

Judging from the total response to the J4J positions so far, it should give every pilot out there a feel for how bad the conditions really are at the regionals. But I was there once too. (zero urge to do it again.)

It's amazing what you can get a pilot to do if they don't know what it should be like! (Not bashing anyone, just stating the obvious.)

hey, it could be good money (flyin the 170) cause it seems like they always have maintenance when they push (saw it first hand today in syr)
so as long as they break after the parking brake is released, thats chaching baby! lol

Actually as far as I know there is no pay for mx cx's and weather stuff. Just block pay or line pay or garuntee. Very close to if not just like Eagles contract.
