College football needs a playoff like I need a job in the left seat of a 777! Very few people watch the toilet Bowls other than fans of the respective teams. Boise State and Iowa State? I think I'll pass. A simple playoff using the BCS to seed 8 teams would be great. Matchups this year would include KSU and Miami, OU and OSU (not the one that keeps beating OU), Wazzu and Georgia, and USC and Iowa. I don't think the little bowls would be hurt too much, and the playoff games would likely get great TV ratings.
Under the current system OSU should go to the Fiesta Bowl, no question, but in a playoff they wouldn't have a chance. Miami would have the best chance, followed by OU (always plays well against non-aggie teams), USC, and K-State. Although all 8 teams would be capable of winning it all.
And, speaking of football players/pilots don't forget OU star TE Trent Smith, an aviation major.
Hey BigD, it's 3:36 and OU has still beatin the whorns 3 times strait in football and at least 6 times in a row in b-ball (I lost count)!
