I sent the following letter out a few weeks ago, and received two responses, both over the telephone tonight.

"Hello,

My name is XXXX. I am currently working as a pilot for XXXX. My schedule is such that it leaves me available between eight and twelve days a month. This would allow me to provide contract pilot services on my days off, should your company have extra work, or people taking vacations.

I have attached a copy of my resume, listing my qualifications, and can provide local references to my skills, work ethic, and professionalism. I understand that more often than not, flying work requires more than just flying the airplane, and I welcome additional challenges.

I have listed below my address, phone number, and email address if you wish to contact me, and would look forward to meeting with you at your convenience. If desired, I can also provide availability up to a month in advance at your request.

Thank you for your time,

XXXX"

Now my big question is should I follow up with a letter to the folks who contacted me, and if so what the letter should include. I am really new to contract services, and am not quite sure what would be appropriate.

Thanks

That was a good letter. Follow up saying that you appreciate the time they spent speaking with you on the phone. Put in something of what you talked about and that you hope to provide services for them should they need it. No matter what you send they will appreciate it.

When to send it?

Good post...

I submitted a resume/cover letter via email two days ago and am anxious to follow up...

What is a good time period to follow up?
