I am flying to vegas next week and this is my first airline flight since I started flight training.Would the pilots let me peek into the cockpit when I board or has 9/11 messed that up? After having alittle trouble learning how to land a plane I have a new respect for what these guys do in all kinds of weather conditions.

Most pilots would be more than happy to allow you to look into the cockpit prior to pushback from the gate. You should not have a problem at all when the engines are shut down.

I flew SWA about 2 weeks ago and was delayed in SDF due to T-storms. Pilots were great and allowed me to come up front and chat while we were waiting for our clearance from the gate. Wish it was a 700/800 series 737 but it was nice to see....As I noted, a lot looks strangely femiliar to the 727....
