FalconCapt, didnt mean to drag you in at all, I do get a kick out of your guys Falcon/Gulfstream bickering! Its a good laugh!

No problem, I do it merely for entertainment purposes... Our 900EX's are doing trips that our G-IV wasn't able too... So I can compare apples to apples... But some of our guys still sob because their G-IV is gone... Oh well, some need their ego's stroked more than others I guess!

Have I ever told you how much I love those leading edge slats on the Global? We had a V1 speed of 88kts and a landing Vref of 98 kts. the other night. It's just so cool!!

The 900EX has full wing leading edge slats too! :D :D :D

Sorry, I just couldn't resist!!!! ;) :D Its like a gravitational force that I can not overcome!

Well I'd better go look for my "Drag Polars" I seem to have misplaced them!

Falcon Capt:

"Drag Polars"! Now your killing me. It's funny how GVFlyer only bashes the Global, Isnt it? I wonder why that is? HaHaHa!

Hey, we may get a Falcon 2000 to replace the Lear. I hear its a good ship. If all goes well we should have it by the end of next year. I was hoping for the 900EX. We will see. They wont wait for a 7X.

Empenage.

Nah, he bashes the 900EX too, don't feel so special... HAHAHA

Anyhow, if you can wait for the 2000EX it is supposed to be a HUGE improvement over the straight 2000 (2,200 lbs additional thrust and another 3,000 lbs of fuel)

The 7X is at least 4 years off...

Falcon Capt:

How long for the 2000EX? They just want to make NY to SFO, in the winter, with say bad weather in SFO. The Global keeps going around the world and the Lear 55 has to stop for fuel. They hate stopping for fuel.

I'll miss the Lear. That airplane is like the "Energizer Bunny". It just keeps going!

Empenage.

First deliveries of the 2000EX are supposed to be in the 2nd quarter of next year (2003)...

The 2000 will make NY to SFO, but might be tight with very strong winter winds and if there is bad WX in SFO... the 2000EX would make all the difference in the world on that leg...

Here is a pretty interesting press release highlighting the differences between the 2000 and 2000EX...

http://www.falconjet.com/whatsnew/prelease_details.jsp?DOCNUM=5012

Hope this helps!

Falcon Capt:

Thanks for the help! I really appreciate it. I would still like the 900 though.....leading edge slats and three engines! But I'll fly whatever they buy!

See ya.

I hear ya... I was very disappointed that Falcon didn't put the inboard leading edge slats on the 2000EX, still can't figure out why they didn't... Both the 50 and 900 have full wing leading edge slats... the 2000/2000EX only have outboards...

Things that make you say "Hhhmmmm..."
