I believe that "Flying Lessons Chicago" could be a place called The Flight Center. If they are located at Service Aviation and fly Cessna 152's and Beechcraft Sundowners, then that is them.
If this is the place you are referring to, STAY FAR, FAR, FAR, AWAY!!!!! They have been a sleeze-ball operation for years. They have like 20 different names so when you look them up in a phone book, you think you are calling some place else. They treat their instructors like crap. They actually sued the flight school I used to work at because we hired an instructor that used to work there. This guy was a furloughed UAL 737 FO. When he started with them, they made him sign a "Non-Compete Agreement" saying that if he left them, he could not work at any other flight school at PWK airport. He was dumb to sign it, but I can't beleive they make their CFI's sign that stuff. Unreal.
They have been ripping off students for years. Example: When the weather is bad, they take the students out to do taxi practice so they can keep the hobbs meters running. I've seen days where it is like 200 and 1/2 and their entire fleet is out requesting taxi practice all over the field. How rediculous! Plus, I think they have some of the highest rates I've ever seen, even more than American Flyers if I'm not mistaken.
If this is not the place you were referring to, disregard. If it is, stay away.
