Just wondering what would be involved for a American citizen to apply for a job at a Canadian major/regional???

Having gone through the process in the past (it may not be totally current) many years ago, I can pass on my experience. To get "permanent" employment in Canada you must be a legal resident. To be hired as a foreigner, you must be sponsored by the employer and they must not be able to find a qualified Canadian. And they are quite strict about these requirements.

Imagine that.... ensuring there are no qualified citizens looking for work before allowing a non-citizen access to the job.. brilliant.....
