I was looking at some flying clubs in Northern, NJ, at MMU and CDW airports. I came across 3 clubs and was wondering what people's opinions are about the club, the rates, the members, the condition and quality of the planes, the availability in scheduling the planes, etc.
In Morristown I found:
http://www.150thaero.org/
and
http://www.morrisaero.org/
Then in Caldwell I found:
http://www.flyingclub.org/
Morristown would probably be the best pick for me as I pass it everyday going to and from work but Caldwell isn't that far away so that's always doable as well. I was at first looking to partner with another guy and buy a C150 but I am not so sure I want to take on all the maintenance costs with owning my own plane. Ontop of this, it's only a 2 seater and pretty slow, and what I really am after is getting a plane that I can take a person or two up and go away for weekend trips, etc. to some places like NC or MI. A c150 I am sure can do that, it will just take a long time.
Any thoughts, sugestions, opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
