Considering the size of Flyi compared to the others mentioned, I would say that is not too great.

They have 160 millions left of that 65 unrestricted...

Yep, because we parked 20 CRJ's and put 500 F/O's on the street...thus we still have money in the bank. To keep more money in the bank, we will continue to furlough and get rid of CRJ's. I predict "0" CRJ's by December and we become a USA 3000 type of operation w/ the remaining Airbuses.

Oh yeah....all is well. Expertly planned and run outfit.

I predict 0 Rj's 0 Airbuses and 0 employees by December. However, FLYi has continued to excel at running itself into the ground...so they may go teets up sooner. That Kerry Skeen....what a leader.

"In the rare event that a customers’ checked bag does not arrive at their final destination when they do, Independence Air will gladly offer a credit for future travel in the amount of the one-way fare paid for that flight, to be used by the customer any time within the next year."

Better use those "credits" quick. They are about to be as valuable as FLYi stock. By the way...did Kerry Skeen cry and hold his breath long enough to make the NASDAQ boys feel sorry for him and keep his pitifull stock on the board? How embarassing was that?

Hey deeeeeeznutz,

First of all, it's "NASDAQ". So you got that one wrong.

Second of all, I never stated that my former company was doing well. Are we going to make it?...not likely...but why wish the demise of an entire airline? Flooding the market with high time jet pilots is not going to help the economy one bit...but then again, your MickeySlapnutz...the name explains everything.

From a current "regional pilot" I say good luck. Thank you to the ACA guys and gals for having nutz to go it on your own. Things are not going that well for any airline but at least you all have the pride to tell some others to E%t Sh#t.
I hope I have the fortune to fly with a ACA pilot someday...

Sorry bout the NASDAQ/NASDAC thing....fast fingers. I have edited my post.

I dont wish the demise of FLYi, nor do I want any more guys out of work. However, I'm not the guy running the joint into the gutter and kicking people out of a job. That seems to be what FLYi management is doing in short order. Shoot the messanger if you must, but please, save a couple of bullets for the guys who got you folks into this mess with their foolish plan.

The good news is the rest of the industry will benefit a little with less capacity. However, since they are only filling their small fleet of small airplanes just over half.....oh well.

I agree. I read somewhere that FlyI had 0.4% of the market share in terms of seats in the US. Not likely that'll even make a dent in the ticket prices if they go under. Wishing their demise is just bad taste IMO.

I recently found some handouts from the ol' ACA who were actively picking up my schools graduates. They were hiring at 275/25...the people on the cover look like they're 19 years old! Crazy...

0.6% of the national airline market to be exact.

What gives, Mickey? You always seem to pop up when it's time to kick a dying dog.

Tell us the truth, now.

Pride. One of the seven deadly sins.

Whom were they telling to "E%t Sh#t"? Whose face is now cover in it?

He's baaaaack. MickeySlapnutz, that is. Shouldn't you be berating the jetBlue guys over in the majors forum?

I just get a kick out of stupid mangement press releases and bull-stien spin. FLYi management just happens to out do any other group by a wide margin. And some of the guys on this board are buying it.

I started kicking this dog from day one...I have been consistent in my opinion and have lampooned FLYi "leadership" from the start. Do I feel sorry for the folks who work there? Sure do.

Have'nt heard any good rumors about them lately. Soon as I do, I'll ask the questions and take the heat. They dont squeeze out dumb management quotes like FLYi does. I'm serious....FLYi captures every major award in that column.

Huh? The employees had no choice in going on their own.

Yeah...Yeah...Yeah...

You got me on that one...I hang my head in shame as a former employee.

You may fire "at will" when ready...

some folks confuse low-brow cynicism with intellectual criticism.

allow me to retort in the manner to which you seem accustomed:
the name MickeySlapnutz? why that's just pure brilliance! man, you must've gone to Harvard to have come up with that one. Oh, and the way you laughed at FLYi management for being stupid? priceless! you're killing me! hey, i've got a topic you should comment on. don't you hate when men leave the toilet seat up? i mean, come on!

not very enlightening, is it? don't quit your day job, whatever that is.

Thats the Taquilla talking.

Easy does it now.........put down the bottle and step away from the keyboard. It'll all be OK in the morning.

I think this from the last FLYi press release may help explain why I confuse low-brow cynicism with intellectual criticism.

"Independence Air, the "i" logo mark, FLYi, FLYi.com and Tender Loving Service are service marks of Independence Air, Inc."

And now the crown jewel from Kerry Skeen himself.....

Independence Air Losses Top $100 Million
Struggling Independence Air Posts $105 Million in Losses in First Quarter
Flyi's chief executive said "We need to continue the trend line we're on now."

They make it so easy!!!

I've got good friends at Indy. None of them ever voted to go it alone. Unfortunately, the employees are suffering from the decisions of management. I wish the employees well.

Not that it matters too much, but it's $170 mil with $63 restricted and $107 unrestriced.

-PB

Don't forget that those numbers were the balances on March 31. That was five weeks ago.

2004 Q3 loss ...... 83 mil
2004 Q4 loss ...... 87 mil
2005 Q1 loss ..... 105 mil

Unrestricted cash on hand March 31 .... 107 mil

If the Q1 loss remains constant, then the unrestricted cash runs out by July 1 (8 weeks from now). If mgt can cut their losses by half, then the cash carries them to Oct 1.

While load factors have increased since last fall, so has the cash burn. Considering this, I doubt that mgt can half their daily loss. What current plans / procedures, etc are in place that would reduce these losses? Unless something major, and unexpected, happens on the finance side, then Indy will probably be done in Q3.
