I signed up and have not received one email from them or any increase in spam email - as far as reliability, not sure since I don't fly - I saw it in another thread a few weeks back, and decided to check it out, boredom was the only reason I signed up for it. I think it's worth checking out and signing up for. I can only speak for the spam email question that you asked. Any other info would have to come from a pilot that's used it. Fly safe!

A bunch of guys I fly with use it all the time. I have checked the information on the printouts with what we see on the FMS and they are fairly accurate, especially thier winds aloft interpolations and time for the leg. They give you a decent amount of info and in an easy to read and find format.......not bad for free!!!!!!!!

I use it for all my domestic flight planning. Somehow or another, the numbers that it comes up with is incredible my actual fuel burns and times are within 3% of what fltplan.com comes up with. I've never used it to file a flight plan though, but I’m going to start.

I've used it quite a bit, it's great for IFR route planning and is wonderful when it comes to the winds, speeds and times.

It isn't great for VFR planning since checkpoints are a problem. As for actually filing, I still like to call the FSS.

My captain uses it all the time. I've started using it. Still trying to figure out the advanced fuel burn section. It appears to be a good site.

I use FltPlan.com all the time, I highly recommend it! It provides preferred routing, STARs and even simplified high- and low-altitude charts. The chart feature will show you a direct route which you can compare to the airways and plan accordingly. Routes that other users have used are included too so you can see what most people file.

A while back they were having some trouble with their server. They provide a backup site, Fltplan.com's backup site . Sometimes it may take an hour or so to activate the backup during the off-hours. Flight plans are filed through GTE DUAT and can be amended through GTE's site. I've never had any problems losing flight plans filed through them.

The flight logs are great. I think the best part is that they have all the frequencies listed on the log. The most useful being the FBO's ARINCs freqs.

da best

I file every single flight plan thru fltplan.com. There isn't a better site. You can store multiple planes and multiple pilot information so it takes about 30 seconds to file a flight plan. Like others have said the best thing is the flight log. I also use the passenger briefing page to let my pax know what's going on with the flight.
